Within the framework of the University Witten/Herdecke’s 13th Congress for Family-Owned Companies on February 11th, 2011, Dr. Helga Breuninger and Robert A. Sedlák will present three highly topical case studies as part of the workshop unit A02 from 11:00 a.m. to 01:45 p.m.

Whether on a social, an organizational or individual level, we are all confronted with complex challenges that call for complex solution structures. One manner of creating these complex solution structures are networks that continually need to be fostered and further developed.

In order to show you how we have successfully handled complex challenges by using networks, we will showcase three case studies that are exemplary for many other cases. The workshop participants can then select between current topics with reference to a family-owned company, the development of leadership competencies of female entrepreneurs and an educational project with highest social relevance.

The case studies will be structured and presented as follows:

  • Case of action (initial situation)
  • Project‘s targets
  • The respective Network involved
  • Structure and process
  • Special challenges
  • Key Learnings
  • Status Quo of the project

Afterwards we look forward to discussing your views and answering questions.

At the end of the unit, we will mutually elaborate the significance of our gained network-experiences in solving complex family-owned businesses challenges. In addition, we will discuss which hurdles are to be overcome in order to exploit the advantages associated with networks.

We are looking forward to your participation!
